USD 1.5 million
Project Description
The project seeks to unlock the potential of tin-bearing deposits in the region, supporting the country’s drive toward mineral value addition, industrialization, and economic diversification.
The project area lies within a geologically favourable zone known for cassiterite mineralization, associated with granitic and pegmatitic formations of the Kigezi–Kabale–Kisoro metallogenic belt. Preliminary geological surveys and artisanal mining activities have confirmed the presence of significant tin occurrences, warranting detailed exploration to quantify reserves and assess commercial viability.
The exploration area covers an area of 581.87 hectares (~5.8km), located along the northwest shore of Lake Mutanda in the parishes of Rutaka and Buhozi, Kirundo and Busanza Sub counties, Kisoro District.
