Project Description
The Ntungamo Mineral Beneficiation Centre is a flagship UNMC initiative designed to promote value addition, formalization, and commercialization of minerals in the Ntungamo region. It will host modern processing plants, testing labs, training facilities, and trading infrastructure to support thebeneficiation of tin, lithium, tantalite, tungsten, and gold.The centre will also enhance ASM participation, promote clean technologies, and ensure environmental and safety compliance. The project directly supports Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the 10 fold growth strategy .
Project Strategic Objectives
The MBC will enhance processing capacity, provide modern equipment and technical assistance to artisanal and small-scale miners, facilitate certification and market access, and drive employment creation and local economic growth through mineralised productivity, entrepreneurship and supplier development.
